The Seven Chakras
“Energy flows where attention goes.”
— James Redfield

There’s an ancient model of alignment:
Seven energy centers.
Seven colors.
Seven layers of awareness.
You don’t have to treat them as mystical.
You can treat them as structure.
A map.
And the music production process follows a similar ascent.
The Starting Point
We begin at the top.
With vision.
Because before there is sound,
there is intention.
Session 1 — Crown Chakra
Color: Violet
Meditation: Golden Sun
Skill: Production
Songs.
Sounds.
Performance.
Schedule.
People.
Places.
Parts.
This is the aerial view.
Why this project?
What world does it belong to?
Who is involved?
Production is awareness at the highest level.
Session 2 — Root Chakra
Color: Red
Meditation: Grounding
Skill: Songwriting
Rhythm.
Melody.
Lyrics.
This is foundation.
The pulse.
The hook.
The message.
If this is strong, everything above it stands firm.
Session 3 — Sacral Chakra
Color: Orange
Meditation: Awareness
Skill: Pre-Production
Song structure.
Instrumentation.
Parts.
Movement begins.
What plays where?
What drops out?
What builds tension?
Energy starts to flow.
The Test
Now the ideas must become sound.
Vision meets reality.
Session 4 — Solar Plexus Chakra
Color: Yellow
Meditation: Focus
Skill: Recording
Programming.
Bed tracks.
Overdubs.
Execution.
Commit to tones.
Capture performances.
Turn intention into waveform.
Session 5 — Heart Chakra
Color: Green
Meditation: Gratitude
Skill: Editing
Compositing.
Timing.
Tuning.
Care lives here.
Refining without over-polishing.
Supporting the performance, not replacing it.
Precision with empathy.
Session 6 — Throat Chakra
Color: Blue
Meditation: Mantra
Skill: Mixing
Balance.
Processing.
Automation.
Communication.
Every element heard.
Nothing competing.
Everything clear.
Session 7 — Third Eye Chakra
Color: Indigo
Meditation: Zazen
Skill: Mastering
Quality control.
EQ.
Loudness.
Perspective.
Step back.
See the whole.
Confirm it translates everywhere.
The Return
Seven stages.
From vision
to foundation
to execution
to refinement
to clarity.
When the process is aligned, the work feels lighter.
Before your next session, ask:
Where am I in the ascent?
Honour that stage.
And let the music rise naturally.

Song of the Week 🎧
“I'm On Fire” — Bruce Springsteen
|
Listen to the drum beat, the drum sound, the live-off-the-floor feeling of the recording. The song seems to speed up and slow down in parts, indicating that it wasn't recorded to a click track. The dark reverb on his voice, the snare, the synth. The lyrics and his vocal performance. My favourite Springsteen song. Absolute "vibe", and vibe matters.
